About Adaminaby: Join us in Adaminaby, where the famous Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme began. The scheme created one of the engineering wonders of the modern world. It also brought together people of many different cultures as never before.
The town of Adaminaby was moved from one side of the Great Dividing Range to the other as the Scheme took shape, creating a unique township. The area is also steeped in older history: from the Aboriginal groups who lived here or visited for the Bogong moth feasts, to pastoralists and gold diggers.
