Event description

This two day workshop is really two workshops in one - Drawing technique and Experimental Drawing, and is suitable for all levels, beginners to advanced.

In this workshop, beginners will have basic drawing skills covered, whilst the more experienced in the group will have the opportunity to practise and hone their skills in observational drawing.

The primary focus of the weekend for all, will be to discover what's possible with charcoal, moving from a traditional to an experimental approach by combining charcoal with acrylic paint and soft gel medium.

During the workshop you will produce a number of drawings which will prepare you for a final work on the second day.

You will be working from a variety of reference material and subjects.  Favourite objects and or photographic reference.  This means you get the experience of working from life and/or photos.  Subject matter is therefore varied as well and you can choose which to base your final work around.

By the end of the weekend you will be sure to have sharpened your observational skills, honed your charcoal technique and discovered new ways to make interesting drawings... and above all... had fun!!
