Exploring Indigenous Perspectives in Education with Brooke Wandin (Wurundjeri)

This professional learning workshop provides educators with the opportunity to deepen their understanding through exploring Indigenous perspectives in early learning and primary education settings. Led by Wurundjeri woman, artist, language worker and educator Brooke Wandin, the session centres First Nations knowledge, cultural practice and lived experience. 

Designed for Early Learning educators and Primary teachers working with Prep to Year 2 students, the workshop explores cultural content, language, and knowledge systems through both discussion and hands-on activities. Participants will take part in interactive hands-on activities, offering practical approaches that can be translated into classroom settings. 

The session supports educators to approach Indigenous perspectives with cultural respect, accuracy and confidence, while reinforcing the importance of language, Country and relational learning. This workshop will explore outcomes from the previous Embedding Indigenous Perspectives in Education with Brooke Wandin session and will be appropriate for new attendees. The workshop has limited capacity in order to support meaningful engagement and discussion.
