Your safety and well-being

This event will involve in-depth discussions about theological and social research and information around safety, safeguarding, and spiritual and sexual harm in communities of Catholic Women Religious.

Your wellbeing is a priority.

We ask you to take a moment to consider the following information and reflect on how you might be able to prepare for possible difficult conversations, and what to do if you need support.

Before the event

Identify what self-care strategies you find helpful.
Become familiar with the counselling services available to you. In addition, you may wish to consider whether pastoral supervision, clinical supervision, or an Employee Assistance Program would be available and helpful for you.

On the day

Check in with yourself before the event starts – do you feel up to thinking about this content today? Will you have time afterwards for some self-care?
Only speak and share as much as you are comfortable with during the day
Be aware of how you are feeling during the day
Feel free to take some space at any time during the day. Take a break, or action any self-care strategies.
During the event, a qualified psychologist will be present.
Seek help from a friend, supervisor, or a support service if needed
