Exploring sample role descriptions for our Sector - (Online) November 2026
Description
How can the Workforce Capability Framework help describe the work we do?
Four new sample position descriptions, aligned with the Capability Framework roles for Allied Support, Practitioner, Advanced Practitioner and Leader, can assist managers and services to communicate role purpose, expectations and responsibilities. Workforce Capability Framework resources can be found here.
Join Kerriann Dear for a practical one-hour online session exploring WorkUP's sample role descriptions for domestic, family and sexual violence and women's health and wellbeing services.
In this session, you'll:
• Explore why the samples were developed and the principles that shaped them
• Take a quick tour of the resources and see how capabilities translate into role responsibilities and expectations
• Consider what's useful and how the samples might be adapted to your service context
• Briefly explore how clearer descriptions of skills, knowledge and responsibility can support conversations about classification and work value
• Share reflections, ask questions and exchange ideas with others
• Find out where to access the resources and how to get started.
The sample role descriptions are designed as a starting point. Take what's useful, adapt it to your context, and use them in ways that support your service and workforce.
Whether you're updating a position description or simply curious about the resources, you're welcome. No prior knowledge is needed.
