Exploring the Abedian School of Architecture: A Guided Tour
Event description
Discover the award-winning Abedian School of Architecture, designed by internationally acclaimed architects Sir Peter Cook and Gavin Robotham of CRAB Studio, London.
Opened in 2014, the building is home to Bond University’s innovative architecture program and is the only studio-based architecture school in Australia. Bold, open-plan, and ultra-modern, the building itself serves as a teaching tool, inspiring the next generation of architects. It received a State Award in the Public Building category at the 2014 AIA Queensland Awards.
During Gold Coast Open House 2025, visitors can join a guided tour with Head of School, Professor Paul Loh. The 40-minute tours, departing at 10am and 11am, explore the Abedian Building and the wider Bond University campus, including the only Australian building by Pritzker Prize Laureate Arata Isozaki. The building will also be open to visitors from 10am–2pm for self-guided exploration.
