Tour of Kanooka House

Take an architectural tour of Kanooka House, a new home for a young family of four, located in the coastal town of Bogangar. Designed in collaboration between Knight Office and Dan Wilson the home references local architectural character, with the pairing of apricot brickwork with fibro cladding and a shallow-pitched roof. While part of the front boundary is walled for pool safety, the rest remains unfenced, creating a generous garden that invites interaction with the street.

Designed to maximise a compact 450m² site, the living areas are oriented north to open onto a sunny courtyard visible from nearly every room. A central circulation spine separates public and private zones, integrating indoor planting, flexible openings, and views to the gardens beyond. Upstairs, the more enclosed level contains the main bedroom, bathroom, and a flexible guest or work space, with windows framing treetop views of a nearby melaleuca forest.
