Express your intereste to participate in The Innovation Leaders Summit to be held in Japan, December 2024

Investment NSW is providing innovative NSW startups the opportunity to participate in one of Asia’s largest open innovation matching events, The Innovation Leaders Summit (ILS) which will be held in Japan in December 2024. 

The Federal Department of Industry, Science, and Resources (DISR) will be sponsoring a Team Australia stand supported by Austrade, and Investment NSW will cover the participation cost of selected NSW startups. 

The Innovation Leaders Summit (ILS) is one of Asia's largest open innovation matching events. At last year’s event, 800 startups and 113 major corporations participated in the main matching program, the POWER MATCHING. Over 3,100 business meetings were arranged and 266 overseas startups from 28 countries participated in this program. 

ILS2024 Event Outline

What you will get:

• Access to the ILS business matching platform (POWER MATCHING and VC MATCHING)
  • Free Japanese-English interpreters available for POWER MATCHING only
• An exhibition space under the 'Team Australia' stand
• Access pass for three people
• Attendance to ILS Networking Sessions
• Opportunity to pitch at the Team Australia special presentation session
• On the ground support from the Investment NSW Japan Office, DISR and Austrade

  • Decarbonisation, net zero
  • Renewable energy, batteries/energy storage
  • Information Technology, AI
  • High performance materials
  • Space and defence

Eligibility - Who can apply for Investment NSW support at ILS:

• Startups headquartered in NSW
• Have a valid ABN and registered for NSW
• Demonstrated commitment to explore entering the Japanese market
• Can commit to meet organiser’s deadline to submit company information and business matching requests in the lead up to the event (September to December 2024)
• Investment NSW will support up to 15 companies. In-person attendance will be given preference over online attendance, and we will prioritise startups working in the above listed sectors.
