    Event description

Join Enabled Youth Disability Network (EYDN) as we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures for
NAIDOC WEEK 2023 : For Our Elders.

    Tuesday July 4th, 5:00pm-7:00pm
    (Aged 15- 35 yrs old)

We will begin the session with a short film called Ngaluk Waangkiny (Us Talking)
The movie follows the journey of a courageous group of Aboriginal Elders living on Whadjuk Noongar boodja as they fight for respect, recognition and acknowledgement from the City of Perth.

This will be followed by a discussion on how can EYDN members can gain knowledge, become strong allies and advocate.
We will also be sharing resources about local first nations' business, training and support services.

All EYDN events are accessible and we like to do our best to accommodate all accessibility requirements to support a participant to independently participate and communicate. We always provide an additional support worker for the group and can organise accessible communication supports if requested. Participants are also welcome to bring a support worker or care giver.

Enabled Youth Disability Network would like to acknowledge that we live, work and play on Kaurna land and pay our respect to elders past and present. We would also like to extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. This workshop will be run with the intention to educate, advocate, support and share knowledge to the best of our abilities without the intention to disrespect any first nations cultures. We will being sharing as allies but welcome any first nations participants to share and attend if interested.
