Event description
The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is offering the following education session in 2026, aimed towards Nurse Practitioners wishing to fine tune or refresh their skills:
Eye and ENT Skills Workshop (Nurse Practitioners) - Saturday 21 February 2026
The number of places for the workshop is limited to 12 participants per session. The session will run 9am-3.40pm.
In this workshop there will be small group instruction and demonstration by Specialists. The sessions will be hands on and will be very instructive in a supportive environment.
The workshop will include practical skills including ENT examination, use of tuning forks, pneumatic otoscopy, flexible nasoendoscopy, removal of ear nose and throat foreign bodies, management of epistaxis, slit lamp refresher, practice of eyelid eversion, measurement of corneal depth and size of lesions using slit lamp, technique for removal of corneal foreign body, assessment of the anterior chamber, measurement of intraocular pressure, testing for relative afferent pupil defect and retinal examination.
