Environment Canterbury Youth Rōpū World Nature Conservation Day Planting:

Join our team for some planting along the Waimakiriri River for World Nature Conservation Day 2024. Bring along whoever you want for some exciting and rewarding times. A lunch will be provided to thank all your hard work and a toilet will be available on site. This is an excellent way to get involved and amongst nature!

Date: Sunday 28 July 2024,

Location: Bailes Island Picnic Area, Waimakariri River Regional Park, enter from Coutts Island Rd in Belfast.

Time: 10am to Lunchtime.

We ask participants to please bring the following:

Sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy, hiking shoes are great for adults if you have them.
Warm and waterproof clothes; at least one warm top layer and a rain jacket. 
Gardening gloves (we have some available but please bring your own if you have them).
Sun hat and sunscreen. 
Reusable water bottle (filled up and ready to go!)
Keep cup for tea/coffee at the start!
