Environment Canterbury Youth Rōpū World Nature Conservation Day Planting:
Join our team for some planting along the Waimakiriri River for World Nature Conservation Day 2024. Bring along whoever you want for some exciting and rewarding times. A lunch will be provided to thank all your hard work and a toilet will be available on site. This is an excellent way to get involved and amongst nature!
Date: Sunday 28 July 2024,
Location: Bailes Island Picnic Area, Waimakariri River Regional Park, enter from Coutts Island Rd in Belfast.
Time: 10am to Lunchtime.
We ask participants to please bring the following:
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit muddy, hiking shoes are great for adults if you have them.
- Warm and waterproof clothes; at least one warm top layer and a rain jacket.
- Gardening gloves (we have some available but please bring your own if you have them).
- Sun hat and sunscreen.
- Reusable water bottle (filled up and ready to go!)
- Keep cup for tea/coffee at the start!
