Event description
The F.A.T (Fabulous and Trendy) Plus Size Runway will showcase size inclusive, Melbourne based, emerging fashion brands including: Lucy Wilkins Fashion, SÜK Workwear, We Are Golden Hour, Ebony Bolts, Warmcore Clothing and Ownsit! The diverse models will range from size 16-24 including indigenous, new Australians, trans and neurodiverse models. The show will focus on showcasing clothing that is fun and youthful. Mainstream plus size fashion is so often made in dark colours and aimed at older women. Many plus size young people are forced to wear age-inappropriate clothing which can contribute to body image issues. The F.A.T runway will connect young fat folks with fashion that helps them express themselves and makes them feel good.
About the event organiser
F.A.T Runway Producer, Lucy Wilkins, founded her fashion brand at the start of 2020. Being a Plus size woman herself it was very important to Lucy that her brand was size inclusive, made to measure and that the designs were colourful, practical and would bring joy to people’s lives.
