Event description

Hello and welcome to October as we appreciate a noticeable warming of our weather.

What a superb presentation by Don Mackay on “Leadership through the lens of health and wellbeing” and a terrific, supportive crowd for our recent September luncheon. Thanks again Don for visiting and lunching with us and thanks to our Treasurer Ian Anderson for nominating & inviting Don.

Our October luncheon approaches and will take place on last Friday of this month where Dr. Scott Davis will be presenting on the Challenges & Opportunities in Regional Remote Healthcare.

Scott is an experienced CEO and Board Director with over 25 years of leadership in complex cultural, political, and commercial environments across Northern Australia, the Pacific, Asia, and North Africa. He has held extensive leadership roles in health service management, higher education, vocational training, and social and economic development. Scott has built a reputation as a commercially astute, values-driven leader who fosters partnerships with communities and industry.

In recent years, Scott has been actively involved in developing and implementing a place-based economic diversification strategy in Far North Queensland (FNQ). In collaboration with key stakeholders, he has worked to reposition the region by recognising opportunities within the Green Economy, driving social and economic resilience across industries and communities. This strategy has contributed to significant investments and the emergence of innovative start-ups in advanced manufacturing, biodiversity capital, the circular economy, ag-tech, tropical health and medicine, and renewable energy distribution and supply.

In recognition of his dedication to rural communities and industries in Australia, Scott was selected for the prestigious Australia Rural Leadership Foundation Program, which he completed in 2016.

Come along and find out the latest on FNQ Rural Remote Health and gain ideas on how to positively contribute and participate in this key area of growth & employment for our region.

Once again, this will be a most informative, not-to-be-missed lunch providing you with both personal & professional development your business and some great networking and we look forward to seeing you there.
