Fab Lab Design Challenge Series
This series of four sessions will run fortnightly during the term. Each session will focus on a different skill in the Fab Lab that can be transferred to the classroom.
Participants are required to register for all four sessions to ensure continuity of learning. Please bring your laptop with Adobe Illustrator installed.
Overview of 4 Week Design Challenge Series
Session #1 | Tour of Casey Tech School Design Challenge #1 – 3D Printing · Use Tinkercad to create a pencil topper · 3D print |
Session #2 | Design Challenge #2 – Laser cutting and etching · Design an image · Use Adobe Illustrator to apply to coaster and key chain · Format to vinyl cut on week 3 or 4 |
Session #3 | Design Challenge #3 – Large format printing · Use Adobe Illustrator to reformat design to apply to a sticker with custom cutting · Group 1: Vinyl cut design to apply to a pencil case |
Session #4 | Design Challenge #4 – Sublimation printing · Use Adobe Illustrator to reformat design to apply to a mouse pad · Group 2: Vinyl cut design to apply to a pencil case |
