Welcome to the Fabulous Fauna Community Field Day!
Date: Saturday, October 5th 2024
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Anstead Bushland Reserve, entry at Anstead Reserve Park carpark
Join us for an exciting event suited to adults and children at Anstead Bushland Reserve, where you'll dive into the world of threatened species, with a special focus on the elusive Collared Delma. Begin with an introduction to the unique species found in the reserve and discover why the Collared Delma is under threat. Learn about our dedicated conservation project aimed at protecting this species.
Meet Danny, the scent detection dog, who plays a crucial role in locating Collared Delma, and hear the latest research on their habitat preferences. Engage in hands-on activities, including a plant identification session, and meet the characters from the "Delma Adventure" interactive play, brought to life by Bushtekniq. The play will take place after a yummy morning tea.
Experience an exciting wildlife presentation by Geckoes Wildlife, showcasing a variety of Australian reptiles and threatened species, and get up close with these fascinating creatures. Finally, explore the Collared Delma habitat restoration site, view Bushtekniq's restoration tools, and continue your wildlife encounters with Geckoes Wildlife.
This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, learn about conservation efforts, and get involved in protecting our local threatened species.
