Event description

On October 15 and 16, Curtis Reddell and George Mair will be partaking in the MACA Cancer 200, Ride for Research - a 200km journey, raising vital funds for cancer research right here in WA. This is their second time riding in the event, having joined step dad Tim Gooch for the 200km in 2021. You can read more about the event here.

Curt's uncle is legendary cinematographer, Rick Rifici and along with his co-producing wife, Sonya, they have kindly arranged for a screening of their new film Facing Monsters at the Lunar Palace Cinemas in Fremantle. Facing Monsters is a feature length documentary that digs deep into the psyche of West Australian 'slab wave' surfer Kerby Brown, a man whose connection with the ocean runs as deep as his love for his family.

Some are calling this the best surf film ever made and it truly is breath taking from start to finish and appeals to surfers and non-surfers alike.

From the ticket price, approximately $5 will go to the cinema to cover the booking and facilities costs, with the rest to be applied to George & Curt's fundraising totals. Collectively, they are hoping to raise $10,0000 and to support this target there will be donated items for silent auction on the night, including wine from Grace Farm, merchandise from Daniel Ricciardo and Michael Walters, and more.

If you have already to donated to either rider, your name can be added to the door list - please let the rider know you would like to attend. If you would like to get a tax receipt for a donation, then donate directly to the riders' page for the equivalent amount and let them know you will attend the movie.
