Children in out-of-home care are known to be at greater risk of negative life outcomes, including physical and mental health, socio-emotional and behavioural problems and cognitive functioning. However, there are supports that can be put in place and decisions that can be made early in the child’s placement which can have a positive impact on developmental and permanency outcomes.

This webinar will be chaired by Dr Jessica Stewart (Executive Director, FACSIAR). Researchers from the Pathways of Care Longitudinal Study (POCLS) will talk about their findings from four waves of the study over an eight year period from care entry. They will demonstrate how birth family, child and placement factors can influence a range of developmental, well-being and permanency outcomes for children in care. Join us to learn more.
