Fair Housing for Hornsby Community Forum

The Sydney Alliance Hornsby Local Team are organising a community forum focussed on increasing the volume of affordable rental housing within the Hornsby LGA.

The rental crisis in Australia is making our LGA unaffordable for essential workers who serve our community, single parent families and those escaping family violence whose children attend local schools. It is also limiting the ability of the next generation of current residents to remain living and working in the area.

At our Forum, we will learn more about the issue, ask for community support and seek commitments from candidates for the upcoming Council election to make the changes necessary to increase the volume of affordable rental housing in our LGA.

Who will be attending?

Everyone is welcome at the Forum! In particular, we would love to see you there if you:

• Live in the Hornsby LGA and are concerned about the growing housing crisis in our LGA and the impact it is having on our community life.

• Don’t live in the Hornsby LGA, but wish to express support for more affordable rental housing in our area.

• Are a candidate for the Hornsby Shire Council election, recognising that, if elected, it is you who will have the responsibility to listen to your constituencies about their housing experiences and take steps to address their concerns.
