Event description

"O let me weep, for ever weep,
My Eyes no more shall welcome Sleep;
I'll hide me from the sight of Day,
And sigh, and sigh my Soul away."

-The Plaint, from Purcell's The Fairy Queen

Join Concordia Ensemble in June 2023 for a fundraising concert of Purcell's well-loved The Fairy Queen in a one hour abridgement. The cast will feature a number of young up and coming soloists from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music's Bachelor of Music program, some of which will be undertaking their first role.

This work will be double-billed with the premiere of young Australian composer Courtney Cousins' first opera Echo.

This performance will be a fundraiser for Concordia Ensemble's 2023 Season. If you would like to support our work, please leave a generous donation.
