A World Premiere
Northern Laos, 1975. Monsoon season. Saigon has just fallen.
As the Communist takeover reshapes a nation, Paul, an Australian teacher hurriedly prepares to leave Laos. A young Hmong woman, Mai, his former student, appears at his doorstep. She is fleeing persecution along with the rest of her people, and is here to say goodbye.
‘The War is over, Meo will die’
Over a single night, Paul and Mai tug at the threads of their past and confront a profoundly uncertain future. With the clock ticking, what has been left unsaid?
Written by award-winning playwright Michele Lee and directed by critically acclaimed Beng Oh, Fall is a gripping historical drama exploring love, loss, identity, and the lasting human cost of war. Intimate, suspenseful, and deeply moving, this powerful three-hander asks what we owe one another when the world around us is falling apart.
