This is not the first time William Steven Hall and Mike McKenna Jr. have crossed paths, sharing their stories and beautifully crafted songs of Cape Breton Island, North Carolina (SE USA), and their travels through life.

Une soirée musicale exceptionnelle, mettant à l'honneur les meilleurs auteurs-compositeurs-interprètes de folk et d'Americana, venus des deux extrémités des Appalaches ! Ce n'est pas la première fois que William Steven Hall et Mike McKenna Jr. se croisent pour partager leurs histoires et leurs chansons magnifiquement composées, inspirées de l'île du Cap-Breton, de la Caroline du Nord (sud-est des États-Unis) et de leurs parcours de vie.

William Steven Hall

A Carolina, indie-songwriter and producer raised in the foothills, cooked in the eastern sands on soul and rock and roll, before finding the folk of the mountains and the meditation of nature. Throughout 2026 he will be releasing songs off of his highly anticipated Adventure-Folk album ’Seasons’ which is set to be fully released by early 2027. His writings deal with sorting through the highs and lows of the world, our roots, and perspectives within the swaying genres of life. 

In 2021, WSH co-founded falllift, an indie-folk production with  Micah Cottingham. They’ve released 10 songs with several sync placements, and with national and international tours. From 2012-2023, he co-fronted folk-rock band Swim in the Wild, producing 30 songs, supporting acts like Colony House and New Politics, with performances at Sundance Film Festival and Floyd Fest.

Originaire de Caroline, cet auteur-compositeur-interprète et producteur indépendant a grandi dans les contreforts, où il s'est imprégné de soul et de rock'n'roll sur les sables de l'Est, avant de découvrir le folk des montagnes et la méditation que procure la nature. Tout au long de l’année 2026, il sortira des titres extraits de son album « Seasons », un opus « adventure-folk » très attendu dont la sortie complète est prévue pour début 2027. Ses textes explorent les hauts et les bas du monde, nos racines et nos perspectives au sein des genres changeants de la vie.

En 2021, WSH a cofondé falllift, un projet de production indie-folk avec Micah Cottingham. Ils ont sorti 10 titres, dont plusieurs ont été utilisés dans des publicités, et ont effectué des tournées nationales et internationales. Mike McKenna Jr. 

Canadian Singer-Songwriter Mike McKenna Jr, is an award-winning artist from Cape Breton Island: with a raspy, soulful voice, warm indie folk and americana tones, and powerful songs laden with captivating storytelling. Born in the proud coal mining town of Glace Bay and raised along the Mira River, Mike's songwriting aesthetic points heavily to his roots growing up in industrial Eastern Cape Breton. 

Over the course of 4 award-winning albums, including his newest release Smoky Mountain High', he's brought us the nostalgia of his home, through carefully chosen narrative, poetry, Scotia's Coastal, working-class communities.

Le chanteur-compositeur canadien Mike McKenna Jr est un artiste primé originaire de l'île du Cap-Breton : doté d'une voix rauque et pleine d'émotion, il propose un folk indie chaleureux aux accents americana, ainsi que des chansons puissantes riches en récits captivants. Né dans la fière ville minière de Glace Bay et ayant grandi le long de la rivière Mira, l'univers musical de Mike s'inspire fortement de ses racines, ancrées dans l'est industriel du Cap-Breton.

Au fil de quatre albums primés, dont son dernier opus « Smoky Mountain High », il nous a fait découvrir la nostalgie de son terroir, à travers des récits soigneusement choisis, de la poésie et les communautés ouvrières de la côte écossaise.
