Event description

The Falling Leaf Festival is proud to present the Falling Leaf Comedy Gala!  Held in our historic and beloved Montreal Community Theatre, the Falling Leaf Comedy Gala promises to be the perfect way to round out Saturday, with plenty of laughs from a wonderful lineup of comics - all presided over by the incredible, Tumut-adoptee DANE SIMPSON.

AKMAL

As Seen on Thank God You’re Here, Have You Been Paying Attention, Just For Laughs and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala we present our headliner - AKMAL

Akmal returns with a smash-hit tour a􀄢er a spiritual journey to India to find himself. Unfortunately, when he got there, he couldn’t see himself anywhere, a􀄢er all India is a big place...
On his return to Australia, he was pleased to discover he had been here the entire time. This has absolutely nothing to do with his upcoming show, and he’s sorry he mentioned it.

Stand-Up, Movies, Sketch, TV appearances, radio DJ, talk show host and a published author, Akmal is one of Australia’s most respected, successful and accomplished comics. Lightning quick and a master of unscripted comedy gold - Akmal has an incredible ability to deal with hot topics in a hilarious and slightly offensive way...

We are also really pleased to also bring you THE RIVERINA COMEDY CLUB featuring:

Jelin Palm

Jelin Palm was a 2024 ACT Raw Comedy finalist and is performing at the 2025 Canberra Comedy Festival in the show "Why women kill...at comedy!"

Jelin Palm, aka Jellybean Comedy, electrifies Canberra's comedy scene. Winner of 2023 Battle of the Comic, two-time Raw Comedy state finalist, and sold-out performer.

Cavie Caveman

Step into the extraordinary world of Tim ‘Caveman’ Barrot, a comedian and raconteur like no other. From his humble beginnings selling encyclopedias door-to-door to surviving in a cave sustained only by peanut butter, Barrot’s life has been a whirlwind of adventure and unpredictability.

David Cunneen

David Cunneen is the comedy sensation you didn't know you needed in your life. His humour is like a breath of fresh air, a delightful blend of witty observations and relatable anectodes that will leave you in stitches. You'll be quoting his hilarious one-liners days after the show.
