Produced by Recidivist World, FAMILIARITY CHASM showcases the diverse drawing practices of The Harlequin Collective, featuring sound art by S.C.U.M. (Society Of Cutting Up Men). This collective comprises Sydney-based underground artists, whose practices delve into the discomfort, dread, or fantasy, of the everyday - the familiar.

Many of these works were conceived and created during the 2021 Lockdowns; a time in which many of us felt as though we were being swallowed whole by the banality of our unchanging surroundings, or forced to romanticise our new Orwellian world. In this way, the Familiarity Chasm is a space we can all relate to.
