Family friendly Lunar New Year slow ride
Event description
The new moon on 29 January marks the start of the lunar Year of the Snake, an occasion celebrated across the world. Join this family-friendly ride in the shape of a slithering snake. Meet us at the start, or anywhere along the route.
We'll start at the forecourt of the Australian Parliament House, wind our way around the National Triangle via Kings Ave bridge, then use the bike paths to finish at the annual Lunar New Year Festival in Dickson (which runs until 10pm).
Wear red if possible, as it's an auspicious colour for the Lunar New Year, which is celebrated by communities across east Asia and around the world.
Bring water, sunglasses, bike locks, and money if you want to eat in Dickson.
We welcome all people on all cycles and scooters. You don't need special clothing or bikes, you just need brakes.
