Family Guided Nature Walk - 3 May 2026

Join us for a FREE fun family guided walk in nature!

Looking for a fun, healthy way to spend quality time with your children? The Family Hiking Program is hosted by HikeWest and designed for families with children aged up to 12 years — no hiking experience needed! This short bushwalk guided by the WA Family Bushwalking Club is an ideal outing for those seeking an introduction to walking in nature in the Perth Hills.

✔ Explore the Beautiful Portagabra Track
Enjoy a peaceful 3.5 km walk through the beautiful jarrah forest of Beelu National Park, passing granite outcrops and majestic grass trees, with breathtaking views of the Helena Valley River and Mundaring Weir. We will park and meet at the red/white Portagabra Track trailhead sign adjacent to Hampel Rd in Fred Jacoby Park, From there the track leads beneath the historic Mundaring to Kalgoorlie pipeline and into the serene forest landscape. (Note: Hampel Rd is first entry on the right into Fred Jacoby Park off  Mundaring Weir Rd when driving from Mundaring. Follow Hampel Rd for 330m to park near the track sign on the right.)
