    Why Outdoor Recreation?

The benefits of outdoor recreation are widely acknowledged to provide both physical and mental health benefits including resilience, as well as increased personal confidence and a general sense of well-being.

Over time, participants can gain leadership skills, environmental awareness and First Aid skills, all while having fun and meeting peers with common interests.

The State government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is a major supporter of Outdoors Great Southern in Western Australia. Sport and recreation creates vibrant, inclusive and connected WA communities.
