Family Workshop: Natural Dyeing with Vero Mendoza

The following workshop will be taught in Zapotec and Spanish.

Join Zapotec artist Vero Mendoza and learn ancestral techniques for preparing and dyeing textiles with natural dyes. All participants will receive a pre-treated cotton bandana to dye and take home. The workshop will also include a weaving demonstration with naturally dyed yarn, an art form passed down for four generations in Mendoza's family. This workshop will be held in Zapotec and Spanish. Ages 7+

Taller de Arte Familiar: Teñido natural con Vero Mendoza
Sabado Mayo 3 | 12-2:00 PM | En persona, aire libre

Únase con la artista Zapoteca Vero Mendoza y aprenda sobre las técnicas indígenas para preparar y teñir lana utilizando tintes naturales o a base de plantas. Todos los participantes recibirán un pañuelo pretratado para teñir y llevar a casa. El taller también incluirá una demostración de tejido en telar de pedal con hilo teñido naturalmente, una forma de arte que se ha transmitido de generación a generación en la familia Mendoza. Este taller se llevará a cabo en zapoteco y español. Edades 7+
