💖 You’re invited to a session of connection and exploration at our new Family Yoga & Nature Journaling Workshop, designed for children ages 6 - 12 to participate in together with their parent or caregiver.

🧘 This is your chance to unplug from your busy lives and slow down to engage in self-care together.

What to expect:

👧 In the first hour of the workshop, you will stretch, breathe and move together through simple yoga poses. These exercises will help your child improve their self-confidence, focus, strength and flexibility, as well as nurture their mind-body awareness.

🎼 Fun games and engaging songs along with creative movements and storytelling will encourage everyone to express themselves freely with their voice and body.

💭 Mindfulness practices will support reflection and connection. The yoga session will finish with a guided relaxation to rest and recharge the soul.

📖 After a short break, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of nature journaling and make your own nature journal book cover using recycled and natural materials. We will then head out into the reserve together, tuning into the arrival of Spring and exploring the wetlands to complete a nature journaling activity.

💖 Bring your friends or make some new ones in a healthy and inclusive environment where all are welcome.

👧 Session is specifically designed for children ages 6 - 12 with the support of a parent/carer.

⭐ No prior yoga experience is required. All journaling materials provided - just come ready to move and connect with your child/ren.

(Please note that this is not a drop-off session. All children must attend the session with an adult parent/carer.)

📆 When: Monday 29 September 2025

Session #1: 10am - 12pm

Session #2: 1pm - 3pm

(Session duration is 2 hours.)

🎫 Cost: $35 for 1 child (ages 6 - 12) and 1 adult.

Each adult can attend with 1-2 children.

Additional tickets for a second child can be purchased for $8 each.

📍 Where: Keon Park Children's Hub, 1-7 Dole Ave, Reservoir VIC 3073.

🚗 How to get there:

Via car - Ample free parking available at the Keon Park Children's Hub, as well as street parking (please adhere to any parking restrictions).
Via train - Take the train to Keon Park railway station (Mernda Railway Line) and then walk for 10 minutes to reach the Keon Park Children's Hub.
Via bus - Bus routes 561 and 564 stop near the Keon Park Children's Hub.
Via bike - Bicycle parking facilities available on site.

💦 What to bring/wear:

Drink bottle of water and light snacks
Wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in
Warm clothes to put on for the relaxation (10 minutes) - Jumper/Hoodie and Socks
Tie up long hair where possible
Yoga mats are provided, however, you're welcome to bring your own mat or picnic blanket

🌞 About Your Facilitator:

This workshop is led by Ting from Under the Sky Kids Yoga - a certified Kids Yoga Teacher, experienced bush playgroup facilitator and nature lover. Ting is passionate about nurturing young bodies and minds, whilst supporting parents with strengthening family connections.
