Class description: Silk Fan Veils introduces you to the flowing and joyous art of dancing with silk fan veils.
In this 3-session winter term, you will learn how to dance with silk fan veils starting by establishing a strong fan veil technique base through simple drills and building to a fun choreography. Some of the elements we will focus on include: fan grips, controlling your fans; caring for your fans, fan veil figure eights; fan veil dance drills and a short group routine. Each class will build on the skills of the previous week including applying what we’ve learned and putting it into a fun fan dance routine. For ongoing students, we will be refining and building our skills including barrel turns, figure 8s and spirals.
Fan veils will be provided for use in class, but you are also welcome to bring your own.
