The veil is thinning, the Frost Moon is rising, and for one night, we're inviting you to leave the ordinary world behind.

Welcome to The Frost Moon Ball! A Scottish fantasy ball inspired by the ancient folklore, wild landscapes and magic of Scotland.

The Venue

Standing at the top of Byres Road in Glasgow's West End, Òran Mór feels like it was built for a fantasy ball.

Originally a 19th-century church, this iconic Glasgow landmark is filled with soaring architecture, stained glass and dramatic historic features. Above the Auditorium sits an extraordinary celestial ceiling mural by legendary Scottish artist and writer Alasdair Gray.

Under that ceiling, surrounded by stone arches and candlelit fantasy glamour, we'll dance beneath the Frost Moon.

If you've ever wanted to walk into a room and feel like you've stepped straight into another realm... this is it.

Your Evening Awaits

Your ticket to the Frost Moon Ball includes:

• A Three-Course Dinner
  Begin your evening with a beautiful sit-down three-course meal. You'll be able to select your menu choices during the booking process.

• Pre-Dinner Entertainment
  The realm will already be stirring when you arrive. Expect entertainment inspired by fantasy, folklore and magic as the evening begins.

• An Evening of Dancing
  Once dinner is finished, it's time to take to the floor. Waltz dramatically. Dance terribly. Twirl your cape. Find your fantasy romance moment. We support all of the above.

• Fantasy Photo Opportunities
  You spent three months planning that outfit. Obviously we need evidence. There'll be plenty of opportunities throughout the evening to capture your Frost Moon look.

• A Few Secrets...
  We couldn't possibly reveal everything before the gates open. Expect a few special surprises throughout the evening that we're keeping safely hidden in the FBS vault for now.

Dress Code: Fantasy Formal

This is your excuse to wear the outfit. The one sitting in your saved folder. The dress you said you'd never have anywhere to wear. The armour you've been desperate to finish. The cape that's frankly far too dramatic for Tesco.

This is where you wear it!

Think gowns, dresses, suits, kilts, corsets, cloaks, armour and outfits inspired by your favourite fantasy worlds.

• Wings are encouraged.

• Fangs are welcome.

• Fae ears? Obviously.

• Armour? We WANT to see it.

• Kilts? Always.

Interpret Scottish fantasy, folklore and magic however you wish. Fae royalty, Highland warrior, forest witch, selkie, dark queen, enchanted noble, creature of the night... or simply come dressed in something that makes you feel incredible.

Fantasy dress is encouraged, never required. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident.

But if you're wondering whether your outfit is too much? It won't be!

Bringing A Date?

Unlike our usual Fantasy Bookclub Scotland events, The Frost Moon Ball is open to everyone.

Bring your bestie for a night of questionable dancing.

Bring your partner and finally force them to live out your fantasy-romance dreams.

Coming Alone? Come Anyway!

You absolutely do not need a court, coven or fellowship to attend.

Fantasy Bookclub Scotland has always been about bringing people together, and plenty of our community come to events without knowing anyone else.

You already have something in common with almost everyone in the room: you're the kind of person who saw Scottish Fantasy Ball and thought, yes, immediately.

That's a pretty good place to start a friendship.
