Fantasy Medieval Fair 2026
Event description
At the Fantasy Medieval Fair in Mount Gambier, visitors can expect a full weekend of medieval splendour and family-friendly adventure.
Come for one day. Come for a weekend.
(10am to 4pm Saturday 18 April and Sunday 19 April)
You can even join us for an Adults-Only Feast!
(5:30pm Saturday 18 April)
At the fair you'll wander through bustling market stalls filled with handcrafted wares, costumes, jewellery, trinkets, candles, and meads; watch artisans demonstrate traditional crafts; and savour a range of hot food and drink from medieval-inspired outlets. The air fills with live music, drums, and pipes, setting the tone for thrilling combat displays, jousting tournaments, and re-enactment camps that bring history and fantasy to life.
There’s entertainment for all ages — from archery and sword-fighting to re-enacting, children’s games, hair braiding and henna tattooing — plus the lively costume competitions of knights, fairies, kings, queens, and mythical creatures.
On the Saturday evening adults are invited to join in on a culinary feast for a night filled with merriment, entertainment, costumes and mulled wines.
Each year the fair attracts thousands of locals and visitors from across Australia, with recent surveys showing over 25% interstate attendance, proving its growing reputation as a vibrant, inclusive, and culturally rich celebration in the heart of the Limestone Coast.
