FAPSA Teacher Educator Course
Event description
Are you an experienced facilitator of philosophical communities of inquiry? Are you passionate about sharing this practice with others, by training as a Teacher Educator?
ATTEND the FAPSA Teacher Educator Philosophical Community of Inquiry Workshop
Course content: This is a practical course that will prepare you to:
- Co-facilitate FAPSA-approved workshops offered by your local FAPSA Associate 
- Assist newly trained teachers in your schools to further develop their practice 
- Promote engagement with philosophical inquiry, in your home state or country 
- Make practical use of a deeper understanding of the aims, processes and theoretical underpinnings of Philosophy for Children 
This course can lead to one of three FAPSA certificates:
- Educator Trainer (For registered teachers) 
- Philosopher Trainer (For those with a minimum of Honours in Philosophy) 
- Educator/Philosopher Trainer (For those with both of the above) 
Pre-requisites:
- Completion (including successful assessment) of FAPSA-approved Introductory Course 
- Completion (including successful assessment) of FAPSA-approved Advanced Practice Course. 
- Demonstrated competence in delivery of philosophical community of inquiry practice. Your local FAPSA Associate will be required to attest that you have significant experience in creating, and maintaining, an effective community of inquiry. If you are aiming at the Philosopher Trainer certificate, your local FAPSA Association will be required to attest that you have sufficient experience and understanding of the community of inquiry. 
Those who do not fulfil all of these prerequisites may apply to the FAPSA Education Advisory Board for admission to the course.
REGISTRATION CLOSES NOVEMBER 20, 2025.
Assessment:
Each participant in this course will undergo an in-course assessment, consisting of the development and presentation of a small Introductory workshop segment. After the course participants will be supported by their Association to assist with planning and delivery of an Introductory course. Course evaluations and a mentor’s report will complete your assessment.

Workshops start on the Monday but we will meet for Dinner on the Sunday Night prior to commencing after everyone is set up in their accommodation.
