Fared Shafinury Live
Event description
Diaspora Arts Connection proudly welcomes back Fared Shafinury to stage on Saturday, Novemb 8th at 7:00 PM at Berkeley's Live Oak Theater. Join us for an unforgettable evening as Fared Shafinury and his Ghajar Dynastic power trio take the stage for a concert that promises to be a sublime exploration of classical Persian art. This performance will weave together the rich tapestry of Persian poetry, featuring poetic selections from the revered works of Rumi and Hafiz, transporting listeners to a realm where music and literature intertwine seamlessly.
Fared Shafinury, known for his versatile musical palette, has consistently pushed the boundaries of his craft. Having first performed in Berkeley back in 2009 with his indie-rock classical crossover band Tehranosaurus, and many times since, Shafinury comes back to the Bay after many years, with a new musical landscape. This concert marks a significant moment in his journey, as he delves deeply into the profound influences of the Radif—an immaculate collection of Persian melodic heirlooms. This focus reflects a commitment to honoring the roots of Persian music while inviting audiences to experience its timeless beauty.
On stage with Shafinury will be the talented Rambod Dargahi on the tonbak and Naghmeh Sarang on the kamanche, creating a dynamic trio that will bring depth and texture to the performance. Together, they will take listeners on a mesmerizing journey back in time, to an era when classical Persian music was revered not just as entertainment, but as a cherished cultural art form.
Prepare to be captivated by the intricate rhythms, haunting melodies, and the profound emotional resonance that define Shafinury’s unique voice in the Iranian Diaspora. It's not just a performance; it's an invitation to immerse yourself in the essence of Persian heritage, celebrating the artistry that has transcended generations.
