Murray Local Land Services invites you to join this practical workshop in Holbrook, suitable for both new and returning participants. The workshop will cover:

Day 1:

Use of the ‘case study farm’ to understand the concepts and terminology for analysing financial performance.
Developing and interpreting Profit and Loss (gross farm income, costs, GMs, fixed and variable costs, overheads EBIT & returns on assets etc); Cashflow; Balance sheet.
Identify those key financial indicators of performance and distinguish between ‘paper’ and 'real' farm business performance.

Day 2:

Crunch your own numbers to develop performance indicators.
Examine how these indicators can influence management decisions.

A major focus is supporting a shift away from a tax-driven mindset towards making informed management decisions using financial insights.

How to analyse performance (model farm)
