Farm Ramble - Orchard, Kitchen Garden Nursery and Animal paddocks

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

At Black Barn Farm we grow using regenerative farming practices to produce our many varieties of heritage apples, pears, quinces and kilometres of berries. We graft 1000 trees each year, grow, dry and mix our own herbal tea blends and produce a wide range of flowers for local florists.

Our orchard rows aren't straight and the inter-rows are intentionally wild and rich in biodiversity. It doesn't look like a picture book orchard...but WHY?

Spend an afternoon rambling all over the farm with farmer Charlie and ask him all the questions. Wit a background in soil, hydrogeology, permaculture and regenerative growing, Charlie can dive as deeply as you need him to in answering any questions you might have.

Perfect event if you are planning your own home orchard or small scale commercial orchard and fascinating to learn the 'why' and 'how' behind the decisions that have been made to create this family owned horticultural business from scratch.
