With a love of local, sustainable, ethical culinary, Chef Skylar Pratt brings deep awareness of locally grown foods and an eye for beautiful dishes to Crown Hill Farm along with Community Beer Works’ seasonal, locally brewed beers.

Be greeted to the farm by Missy Singer DuMars along with her goofy flock of heritage geese, ducks & chickens as she gives you a tour of her beautiful sustainable farm & gardens.

Discover the interesting history of Crown Hill Farm and how Missy is returning the property to it’s farming roots. About Chef Skylar Pratt: -A WNY native, born and raised in Wellsville, NY, Chef Skylar found her real passion behind the bar and in the kitchen while attending college at Fredonia for Music Education and English, playing rugby and working her way through school. After she graduated, she moved to Ithaca, where she really honed her culinary skills, and grew her love of local, sustainable, ethical culinary.

Eventually, Skylar came to Buffalo to cook at the Gypsy Parlor, broadening her palette by creating multi-cultural menus to highlight the diversity of Buffalo’s West Side. She also started their brunch program. Continuing her love affair with the West Side, she came to Community Beer Works.

Chef Skylar spent a lot of time working with other local restaurants and farmers as a knife-for-hire/roundsman… that is, until Covid hit. With a decline in restaurant dining, she got her real estate license, so that she could continue with her passion for helping everyone no matter income level or ethnicity to achieve their dreams, now through real estate. Then, a call came from Community Beer Works asking her to return. Chef Skylar now heads up their Special Events and Community Outreach Departments as their Executive Chef and Local Agriculture Liaison.
