Farmers Feast - The future is in our "DIRTY" hands

Price $35 AUD + BF Get tickets

Event description

Tweed Richmond Organic Producers Organization (TROPO) with support from Byron Shire Council will be hosting a day of celebration, connection, sharing and learning whilst feasting on incredible local produce.

We are blessed with an array of amazing small-scale producers in our region with knowledge to share. This is a time to get off the farm, learn from each other and meet other fellow framers sharing similar journeys.

During the event you will hear stories from some of our local farmers with short presentations and time for Q and A. You will get to hear about why they farm, what has worked and how they keep going. Speakers will include:

  • Rod Bruin - Summit Organics
  • Sue and Dave Forrest - Organic Forrest
  • Tom and Nicole - Misty Creek Agroforestry
  • David Trevor-Jones - Hayters Hill Farm
  • Tobias O'Grady - Ag_Venture
  • Neil and Belinda - Red Earth Farmers
  • Jodi and Fabian - Woodland Valley Farm

Through the online registration process, we will seek your feedback on what you’d like to discuss and use this feedback to shape the conversation topics for “unconference style” breakout sessions that you can chose to attend on the day.

The event will be fully catered with produce sourced directly from our local farmers.

You will be sure to leave this event feeling inspired, well fed, recharged and more resilient!

All income from ticket sales will be circulated back to farmers through future TROPO workshops and field days. Byron Shire Council is sponsoring 20 FREE tickets for farmers whose primary income comes from producing and selling food in the Byron shire. To check your eligibility and receive the free code, email agriculture@byron.nsw.gov.au
