An introduction to FASD for primary and secondary school teachers and others working in schools. No knowledge of FASD is required.Â
In this introductory workshop, we will be exploring:
1. What is FASD?Â
- How does prenatal alcohol exposure affect the brain?
- An overview of common features of FASD.
2. Supporting children and young people with FASD in schoolsÂ
- Classrooms, curriculum and the playground.
This is an interactive workshop and you will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Participants will be given resources to download.
Prue Walker is a clinical social worker and FASD educator. Prue has supported many individuals, families and organisations to understand FASD and find better strategies and solutions, including children and young people with complex challenges.
