Thank you for registering for @EventName, happening on 14th & 15th March at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Parish, Riverton.

Below are key details to help you prepare for the event.

1. Venue & Arrival

Check-in: Friday, 14th March from 5.30pm at the John Luemmen Hall (Parish Hall).

If driving, free parking is available inside the church car park. If possible, park near the basketball court close to the Hall. Please avoid blocking the emergency access driveway.

2. What to Bring

Reusable water bottle/mug – We are reducing disposable cup use.
Registration Fee (if not already paid):
- Adults (18+): $15 (early bird until 9 March) / $20 (after 9 March)
- Youth (12-17): $15 – If attending unaccompanied, a signed consent form is required.
- Children (under 12): $10 – Must be accompanied by a registered parent/guardian.
A pen – For personal reflections or group discussions.
Your Bible and rosary (optional) – Useful during personal prayer sessions.

4. Welcome & The "Last Supper"

After check-in, collect your name badge and proceed into the Hall. Dinner will be served from 5.45pm to 6.45pm, followed by the Stations of the Cross at 7pm sharp.

5. Fasting Experience

The 24-hour fast is not a rigid no-food-or-drink fast. The fasting is voluntary. The central idea behind the community fast is to involve beginners and appreciate the FAST24 experience of community fasting. The point of fasting and abstinence as a FAST24 community is to help us realise and accomplish something that we as individuals might not normally do on our own. That said, if you are more experienced at fasting, you can set your own pace during FAST24. If at any point you feel unwell, please inform us immediately. Your health and safety are important to us.

People who are unable to fast can still take part (without fasting) because they can support other people who are fasting. In Christian theology and pastoral care, the role of accompanying another person through a challenge (like fasting for 24-hours) is known as a ministry of presence, which is about being fully present for another person. This ministry of presence is rooted in the biblical understanding of God's presence with His people and the call for believers to embody Christ's love through their presence with others.

6. Overnight Sleepout (Optional)

If you have registered for the overnight sleepout, bring:

Sleeping bag/quilt or blanket or pillow to suit your personal needs.
Basic toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, towel) – No shower facilities available.

7. Creativity Workshop

This year, we will design T-shirts using fabric markers. If you haven’t submitted your T-shirt size during your registration, please reply to this email OR inform the Welcome Desk when you check-in. Alternatively, you may bring your own plain white T-shirt. We will using T-shirt markers to design, draw and colour on the T-shirt.

8. Mass & Dinner (Saturday Evening)

We will break the fast together at the Saturday 6pm Mass, followed by dinner in the Parish Hall. You may invite family and friends to join for dinner at $10 per guest. All visitors must register at the Welcome Desk. Please note that it is a FAST24 Tradition to take a group photo with all the registered participants immediately after the Mass, in front of the altar with the Mass celebrant. This has been the tradition since the first FAST24, so we ask for your presence during the brief photo-taking session, before we all proceed to the Parish Hall for dinner together.
