Charlie Mgee is a songwriter, ukulele-player, permaculturist and founder of the world-renowned ecological funk/swing band, Formidable Vegetable. Growing up in a tin shed with a veggie garden, rainwater tank and one 100W solar panel for power in the south-west of Western Australia, Charlie lived the low-impact lifestyle from a young age, using a dunny that didn't flush and hanging out with his chickens for entertainment, which made him realise early on that you don’t need a lot in life to be happy.

Later on, Charlie went off to study permaculture and soon after, formed Formidable Vegetable – a band based entirely around principles of sustainable living and being good to the planet, with the hope of inspiring people everywhere to grow regenerative gardens/lives/communities and generally make the world a better place.

His music has since made it into the lofty halls of the United Nations (who praised Formidable Vegetable for writing about the 'important issues of our time'), onto the stages at Glastonbury Festival alongside such acts as Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry and The Rolling Stones and has inspired the creation of many a backyard and community garden.

Junction 142 is a family friendly venue!
The is an all ages event however minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian and must remain supervised and all attendees require a standard ticket for entry.

Please note that Junction142 is a smoke/drug/alcohol free zone.
Venue hire costs for the event supports Junction142 in their Earth Recovery program and other social enterprises services to the community.

Room configuration will have some limited seating (general admission) at the back of the hall as well as a main dance floor / roaming space / floor sitting area in front of the stage.
Please bring blankets and cushions for an indoor picnic / magic garden.

Kids 11 months and under FREE *must be registered with available ticket
Tickets $20 pre-sale / $25 cash at the door
Or a further 20% discount for group bookings (Min of 3) $16 pre-sale / $20 at the door
Tickets are General Admission.
*Door sales only available if not sold out prior. Please note that this is a limited capacity venue.
Discount show pre-bookings will close 2pm on the day of the event.

Guests can still book with confidence knowing that, while tickets are normally non-refundable, if a show needs to be cancelled for any reason then all tickets will of course be refunded. If a show needs to be rescheduled then tickets will be valid for the new dates. In the instance of guest illness tickets can be transferred on request.
