We’re thrilled to welcome The Maes back to the Blue Mountains as part of their biggest-ever Australian headline tour, celebrating the release of their brand-new album Abreast.

Sisters Maggie and Elsie Rigby will fill the Baroque Room with their luminous harmonies, warm storytelling, and acoustic brilliance on guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin.
Don’t miss this special night in a dedicated “listening space” setting. It’s folk, but with heart, humour and harmonies that stay with you.

The Maes are celebrating the release of their fourth studio album, ‘Abreast’, with a national headline tour encompassing their favourite cities and small towns in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia! Already in 2025 so far they have toured the UK opening for Grace Petrie and played the Shetland and Orkney Folk Festivals. They celebrated the album’s release day with a sold-out folk-festival-style event, ‘Abreastival’ in their home town of Castlemaine, Central Victoria. The band's previous albums, 2019's self-titled record and 2017's Take Care, Take Cover won the Music Victoria, Folk/Roots Album of the Year among a host of other accolades.

The Maes bring modern folk to life with lush harmonies and acoustic mastery on guitar, mandolin, fiddle and banjo. Born in Central Victoria, the sisters grew up immersed in a melting pot of music from around the world washed up on stolen land. The Maes are outstanding live, with engaging storytelling and spine-tingling harmonies. The sisters draw their audience in like your sweetest and scariest friend. With echoes of Gillian Welch and The Waifs, there is a timeless luminescence and simplicity to the songwriting and sound of Maggie and Elsie Rigby.

As well as selling out headline shows around the country and overseas, their international festival appearances include the Telluride Bluegrass Festival (USA) Edmonton Folk Festival (Canada) Orkney Folk Festival (UK) and Woodford Folk Festival (Aus).

Isobel Knight writes and plays songs where the Venn diagram circles of Julia Jacklin and Bruce Springsteen cross over. Her heart-stopping voice, ear-worm melodies and lyricism have carried her music into hearts and charts. After touring the world throughout 2023, Isobel has returned to Australia with new songs and the same warmth and vigour. Heart-on-sleeve alt-folk artist, Isobel wields razor-sharp lyrics and a voice that ranges from gentle storytelling to soulful smoothness. Her sophomore album “Here Now” came out in 2021, debuting at # 5 on the independent album charts.

Please also note that the Baroque Room is a room that we hire, the Carrington Hotel will be operating the bar inside the room but there is no kitchen or food available at the venue. The Old City Bank also owned by the Carrington Hotel next door has hot meals available however guests are unable to bring outside food or drinks inside the Baroque room.

Room configuration will be seated and allocated and tables require group bookings.
Guests will not be able to move seating between sections or transfer from assigned seats.

Section A Theatre style seating will be allocated from the front of the stage to the back, based on booking types and the order that they are received.
Individual group bookings for section A are unlikely to be able to be placed together unless requested prior to the event date.
Guests will be emailed their seat allocations prior to the event date.

• It is crucial that if you are experiencing any COVID like symptoms (flu-like symptoms, fevers, sore-throats etc) that you please do not attend.
• Guests can still book with confidence knowing that, while tickets are normally non-refundable, if a show needs to be cancelled for any reason then all tickets will of course be refunded. If a show needs to be rescheduled then tickets will be valid for the new dates. In the instance of guest illness tickets can be transferred on request.
• There will be no entry to the venue for guests prior to the stated doors open time.
