FDV Community Response Training
Event description
The CRT Program offers a comprehensive approach to understanding Family and Domestic Violence (FDV), equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to respond safely and effectively to those experiencing it.
The program highlights the impact of FDV on individuals and ensures that participants are prepared to connect those in need with the right support services.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Understanding and Prevention of FDV: Participants will learn about
the gendered drivers of violence, recognise the various forms of
FDV—including coercive control—and develop an understanding of
the most at-risk populations.
2. Safe and Effective Response and Support: Participants will explain
the impacts of FDV on women and children,
understand the barriers to leaving, and apply best practices for safe
and effective communication, fostering a supportive environment
for victim-survivors.
3. Resource Navigation and Referral: Participants will demonstrate
knowledge of local resources and referral pathways, emphasising
the importance of connecting individuals to specialist FDV services
for appropriate assistance and support.
