    Family & Domestic Violence Awareness Training

    This workshop training is designed for people in roles that deal directly or indirectly with family and domestic violence. This can include those who work in health, allied health, alcohol and other drugs, education, childcare, and government or community organisations. This workshop is for anyone looking to increase their knowledge and awareness of family and domestic violence that helps to create safety for women and children. This 1/2-day workshop will:

    • Increase family and domestic violence awareness
    • Increase understanding of how family and domestic violence impacts on children and young people
    • Identify ways family and domestic violence intersects with mental health, alcohol and other drugs and housing
    • Increase knowledge of specialist family and domestic violence support services

    Injury Matters is delivering this workshop in partnership with Stopping Family Violence, the peak body for domestic and family violence perpetrator response in WA. SFV works across training, research, policy, and advocacy and drives change by supporting governments and community sectors to build effective service systems that create safety for all victim-survivors.

    Expert trainer Kate Jeffries is a registered psychologist with over 30 years’ experience working in community services across Australia and New Zealand. The past 18 years has been dedicated to leading and supporting family and domestic violence, mental health and disability sectors. Kate’s work with Stopping Family Violence, as Manager Practice Development and Quality Assurance has involved extensive consultation across Western Australia focused on family and domestic violence workforce development, training, advocacy and research. Kate is an accredited trainer and supervisor with the Safe and Together model and AHPRA Board-approved supervisor.
