Introducing OzHarvest's FEAST Program at Perth City Farm
Event description
Australia has a problem, a food waste problem! With over 7.6 million tonnes of food being wasted each year, costing the economy $36.6 billion, we need to take action!
We want to help you make a difference! If you’re an educator, please join us to celebrate World Teachers Day by getting out on the farm and starting your sustainability journey. Enjoy a tour of the beautiful Perth City Farm, and a workshop delivered in partnership with OzHarvest’s Food Education and Sustainability Training (FEAST) program.
You’ll get first-hand experience with PCF's tour format and a taster of the different topics that we focus on, including food production, waste management, animals & wildlife. We hope that your experience will inspire you to book a tour for your class/club in the future, so that we can share our knowledge and passion with your group.
After the tour (and a short break for tea or coffee from the café!) we’ll be heading indoors for a workshop about the FEAST program.
OzHarvest’s WA FEAST Education Coordinator, Eva Clarey, will explain how we can all do something about food waste; especially at home and school with OzHarvest’s FEAST program. This will be followed by a fun and easy cooking session using one of the delicious FEAST recipes with ingredients fresh from the farm.
Places are extremely limited and bookings essential. We hope to see you there!
***KIDS CAN ATTEND***
As this is in the school holidays, we understand if you have your little ones with you. We have some space for children up to 8yo to join free of charge, but please add a ticket for them on the next screen. Kids over 8yo also welcome, but will be charged at the $5pp rate. The tour will still be educational for kids, but just a bit different from our normal school/group tours as it be tailored to show off what we can offer to different groups of different ages.

Perth City Farm is a central urban farming and garden space supporting connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
