What you will learn: Proportion & anatomy: Simple tricks to accurately map out small bird shapes as a base drawing for your clay paintings Using clay paints and which colours to choose: Which colours to choose for painting all aspects of your chosen birds and how to use a limited palette to create harmonious images. Simplifying for clay painting: Practice the art of simplifying your bird paintings whilst keeping them recogniseable and life like. Sgraffito and clay painting techniques: Discover specialized blending, layering, and brushwork techniques to help mimic delicate feathers and lifelike details. We will also be utilising a scratching technique called Sgraffito to scratch away patterns in the bird's feathers and to create highlights.
