Mayriel Luke – Hatha Yoga Summer Meridian Class

My name is Mayriel, and I have been practicing yoga on and off for over forty years. In 2017, I studied in Sydney, Australia, under Andzej Gospodarczyk & completed a two-year teacher training in Ryoho Yoga therapy and Shiatsu. This changed my life forever…. In a great way!

I really love teaching and enjoy the happiness & overall health benefits it brings to students. I believe we teach what we most need to learn, and so I also receive the benefits: it’s a win-win for everyone. I currently teach one-to-one private classes and online via Zoom. My yoga practice and teaching are in the hatha style, with an emphasis on the body’s meridians, each connected to specific organ function. This yoga therapy stimulates and nourishes the body’s vital energy & addresses blockages that may be present. It is a great privilege to share these wonderful teachings, and I hope you will enjoy the ride.

This is a summer class focusing on the heart, triple heater, and pericardium function. FIRE is the summer element that we will address; it’s about heat, pressure, and communication – HEART ENERGY. A healthy fire element is shown by a healthy ability to connect with all things, whether nature or people. It’s about joy and creativity. A healthy circulatory system is essential. We will stimulate our wrists, open our palms, armpits, and chests, and gently challenge ourselves with sit-ups and spinal stretches. I promise to make it fun!
