Fed Square Festive Workshops: Macrame Xmas Trees with Maria

Do you have cats or live in a small apartment? Maybe you are a 70's fan? Well, why not have a flat hanging Christmas tree this year!
Join us and learn the basics of wonderful macrame while making your own beautiful tree hanger for home. All materials provided. Macramé, or the art of knotting, is fun, relaxing, doesn’t need specific tools and is a very useful craft. You can make planters, curtains, bags or Christmas decorations.
What will we cover?
In this class you will learn:
- How to read a macrame pattern
- Materials that you can use (all materials will be provided for this class
- Once we have our yarn ready, we’ll learn the basic macrame knots to make our pattern:
- Larks head
- Square knot
- Double hitch knot
- Finishing touches

Who will be Teaching?
Maria (she/her) is a serial crafter. She loves learning about new crafts and techniques! She does crochet, macrame, sewing, pottery, weaving and likes to explore how these crafts can be combined and expanded.Â
In addition to plants and crafting, she also has a passion for cooking and baking, light painting and running Laneway Learning. You can follow her plantstagram @malayebra.
