Federation + Kororoit Creek Trails
Description
Join us for a fun ride from Footscray to Sunshine via the Federation and Kororoit Creek Trails, checking out some of the new cycling infrastructure built as part of the Westgate Tunnel Project on the way.
Overview
This will be a 27.5km loop from Footscray via Hyde Street, Federation Trail and Kororoit Creek Trail to Sunshine for lunch, and then returning via the Rail Trail. Riders also have the option to end at Sunshine and take the train instead.
All abilities and bikes are welcome. The route is very flat, with the ride to Sunshine on on-road protected (Hyde Street) or off-road paths (the Trails), with the ride back from Sunshine to Footscray on off-road paths and quiet streets.
This is a social, no-drop ride as always, which means we ride as a group at chatting pace, and no one gets left behind.

Things come up, so all good! Just make sure to cancel your ticket or message Hans on WhatsApp ASAP to let us know: there is often a waitlist, so cancelling early will let us give the free spot to someone else.
Bite Sized Rides is powered by volunteers
This event is run entirely by volunteers. We will be riding on public roads, and while we’ve curated a route to keep you away from traffic as much as possible, when you sign up to participate you are agreeing that you are personally responsible for your own safety throughout the entirety of the weekend. Ride carefully, look after each other and reach out if there are things we can do to make your ride better.
