Everything we experience in life gets stored in our body and our nervous system.

Stress is everywhere. If we are not able to metabolise our stress, it gets stored and leads to dis-ease and unhappiness. Even our bones have receptors that detect stress hormones. We cannot escape it but we can learn how to adapt.

How are you in relationship to stress in your life? 

How does it feel in your body? Do you have ways to regulate your nervous system when you're feeling tapped out or stressed out?

In this 3 hour container, we will bring awareness to and experience the sensations of our stored stress using somatic practices and embodied movement to release tension from our body - our musculature and fascia. We will use movement and sensation to bring ourselves into connection with our internal landscape, increasing our window of resilience and our capacity to handle the stressors in life.  

I will then take you through a Rebirthing Breathwork journey. Conscious breathing is the quickest way to bring you back to a more regulated state.

Rebirthing Breathwork is a transformational practice created by Leonard Orr and is a conscious connected breath through the nose which allows you to be taken into a deep meditative state of relaxation. From this safe space, we can access our subconscious mind, rewire emotional blockages and release negative thought patterns which creates more space to access our intuition and creativity. Through the breath, we are able to realise the nature of our own divinity, and release limiting beliefs, bringing us the clarity we need to propel us forward in life.  I will use vocal sound healing to deepen your experience.

About me:

I have been holding space for just over a decade as a yoga and meditation teacher. I was drawn to yoga initially as I felt that long asana practices helped me to release tension in my body and prepare me for the meditation. Once I had children, this all changed - I didn't have the time or resources to focus on my healing journey. This was when the yoga practice really began - I needed to weave the practice as a way of life, into my day. When my second child turned 2, (and I was sleeping longer than 40-60 minutes at a time), I became aware that I had been running on empty for the last four years and my capacity to handle any situation that was not in my realm of expectation was at an all time low. I knew I needed help. This is when I started delving into nervous system work, the power of Rebirthing Breathwork journeys and Somatic Stress Release. 

I believe that in order to calm the mind and be able to regulate our nervous system, we need to work with the body first.  Once we can deeply let go of our physical tension, then the breath can weave its magic.

You will leave this space feeling held, and complete in your process, with some practical tools that you can use in your day to bring yourself back into balance and increase your resilience.
